Having Done All to Stand, STAND
As my husband Gene faces a battle with blood clots, we have found some good places
to stand in the storm.
Maybe you are facing some hard trials in your life, maybe you are trying to face them
alone, but there is a better way!
These are great places to stand for every Christian.
I. God’s Abilities ---
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the Power of His might.
2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV) For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty
through God to the pulling down of strong holds;
When you face a test or trial in life, a good place to stand is in God’s abilities and not
yours.
If you face them in the carnal, or in the natural, you will be defeated. So many times we
try to do things in our own strength only to fail. In times like these we must be strong in
the Lord—strength derived from God. God's strength and His mighty power are part of
the Kingdom blessings available to us as His children.
Strongholds: fears, doubts and unbelief tries to overwhelm your mind at different
times. We trust in the Lord with all our heart, and lean not on our own understanding, in
all our ways acknowledging Him, and He will direct our paths.
Mighty through God –God’s mighty weapons are faith, truth, righteousness, the
Gospel message, and the Word of God. Have Faith in God! God says is there anything
too hard for Him? If God is for us who can be against us?
In Ephesians 1:19 (NIV) Paul prayed for us believers to know God’s “incomparably
great power. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in
Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the
heavenly realms”.
The same power that raised Christ from the dead empowers us believers as we prepare
for the spiritual battle we must face on this earth. We will need it, for the struggle occurs
in the spiritual realm and must be won with spiritual weapons.
While the victory is certain, the battle still must be waged.
Please Note this:
Paul’s words are all in the plural, addressed to the church, who, like a warrior, needs to
put on the complete armor of God. This gives us the ability to stand.
I. No weapon formed against you will prosper.
All principalities and all powers are broken by the anointing of God.
Once again – Satan tries to put yokes, burdens on your life. It can be depression, it can
be defeat, it can be the feeling of giving up or giving in. But the anointing of the Spirit ---
destroys those yokes! Instead of carrying your burden, the Spirit of God carries you.
II. The Anointing of the Spirit
Isaiah 10:27 (KJV) – The yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. God wants
you to stand in the anointing of the Spirit of God.
Everything that Satan tries to put on you, the anointing of the Spirit of God will destroy
III. God’s Word
John 8:32 (KJV) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
When you are facing any battle, the first thing Satan attacks you with is lies. He
paints the worst picture for you every time. You don’t have to listen to His voice,
you listen to God’s promises that are yes and amen.
You stand on the promises of God. You speak against the lies of the enemy with the
powerful Word of God. Heaven and earth will pass away but His Word will never pass
away !!!
Remember-- Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
IV. The Exalted Christ
Ephesians 1:20 - 22 (KJV) 20Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the
dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21Far above all
principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not
only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22And hath put all things under his
feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
All things under His feet – there is nothing He hasn’t already defeated. All enemies are
under His feet.
Jesus sitting at the right hand of God – He has rested from labor, there is a rest for the
people of God. Through faith we enter into the victory that is provided for us.
Every name that is named – Jesus has got it covered – it really doesn’t matter what the
enemy tries. Jesus defeated it all when He said, “It Is Finished.”
V. The Blood
Revelation 12:11-Overcome Him by the blood of the Lamb
“because of”; on account of, and by virtue of its having been shed. Had that blood not
been shed, Satan’s accusations would have been unanswerable; as it is, that blood
meets every charge. (Commentary by Jamieson – Faussett-Brown)
One of the first lessons you learn as a young Christian from the older saints of God is
that nothing can penetrate the Blood. The enemy can’t get through the blood of the
cross.
You are made more than a conqueror, you are an overcomer – If God be for you who can
be against you!
Plead the protection of the Blood of Jesus over your mind, your family, over the church,
over our nation, Israel and missionaries. There's power in the Blood of Jesus.
