In the beginning, as soon as man fell, God gave a promise of atonement.
Make Atonement
To cover, make atonement, make reconciliation, to pacify or appease, to clear, purge or
cleanse.
Gen. 3:15 “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and
her seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”
The bruising of Jesus’ heel was His death on the Cross, by which He would accomplish
our redemption from the curse and the effective defeat of Satan whose works issue in our
sin and sickness.
Mal. 4:2 --- The Old Testament closes with a prophecy that Jesus would bring healing.
He who John called the “light of the world” came into the darkness of the world; His
healing rays are mankind’s blessed cure for the guilt of sin and the oppression of
sickness. Praise God!
Isaiah 53:3-12
In the center of the Old Testament the Lord has placed the most complete description of
the atoning work of Him who would be bruised for our iniquities and lashed for our
HEALING.
Mark 16:17,18
We can expect Christ to heal today because healing the sick is one of the certain signs He
promised would follow those who believed.
The same Gospel that offers the power of God to save from sin also offers the healing
power to heal sickness.
The same Holy Spirit that the Father sent upon the Church in answer to prayer in the book
of Acts will continue to abide in the church until Christ comes again!
Luke 4:18,19
Jesus worked His Healing ministry through the power (anointing) of the Holy Spirit. He
later sent His same Holy Spirit to anoint the Church! (Acts 2:1-4)
John 3:14-16; Numbers 21:4-9
Jesus not only promising salvation, but alluding to the healing within that “great
salvation.”
If you today will look back to Christ’s atoning work on the Cross as the grounds for our
salvation from sin, so also can you look to that same redemption for your sicknesses.
His saving power from sin has not ceased, neither has His healing power for our bodies!
